This is a steel throat plate to suit a Charnwood Country 4 multi-fuel / wood burning stove.

The throat plate is also known as a baffle plate. It sits in the top of the appliance and protects the top casting of the stove from heat.

In some cases, it can also improve airflow in the fire box.
