At Stove Care & Repair we are committed to protecting your personal information and being transparent with you about how we use it.

This privacy notice communicates how we use your Personal Information as customers or somebody who makes an enquiry about our services and how long we keep your data. If you would like to know more please contact the office.

How we collect your information 

We collect many different types of information about you. We cannot administer our orders or other relationship with you without your personal information. We collect the minimum amount of information where we don’t need your personal information, we will make this clear. You provide us with your information directly when you complete and order or enquiry form. We may collect financial information as part of the contract process and we create some information about you for example: jobs tickets as part of any delivery.

We collect and the minimum amount of information where we don’t need your personal information, we will make this clear. You provide us with your information directly when you complete an application form or process. We collect information from referees as part of the application process and we create some information about you for example: jobs undertaken as part of your engagement; manager and customer reports emergency contact details and pay.

The purposes of processing and lawful basis

We process your personal data for particular purposes in connection with your engagement with us, and the management and administration of our business. Under Article 6 UKGDPR We are required to have a legitimate reason or justification (lawful basis), there are six basis identified UKGDPR for processing any personal data:

Consent, Necessary to perform a contract; Legal obligation, Legitimate interest, Vital interest, Necessary to perform a task in the public interest.

When processing data for the purposes of our business together our lawful basis are Contract Legitimate Interest or legal obligation.

Special Category Data

We are required by law to treat certain categories of personal data with even more care than usual. These are called special categories (formerly sensitive) of personal data and different lawful bases apply to them. See Schedule 1 for more information.

Under Article 9 of UKGDPR there are 10 recognised conditions; Explicit Consent, Employment, Social Security and Social Protection Law, Vital Interests, Not for profit organisations, Made Public by the subject, Legal claims & Judicial acts, Substantial Public Interest, Health & Social Care. Public Health, Archiving, Research and Statistics.

If we need to record any condition which we must record in order to complete an order to deliver your orders, for example “customer has limited mobility and may take longer to answer the door”.

In these circumstances you will provide this information directly to us and our lawful basis is Explicit Consent. We will only collect this information from you and will only collect the minimum information to complete any order. You do not have to provide this information and this will not affect your order.

Who your personal data is shared with

We may share your contact details with staff or as part of providing a service, to them. From time to time we may ask third parties (e.g. service providers or subcontractors) to carry out certain business functions such as the installation or delivery of your orders as data processors. These parties will only process data on our behalf and instructions as data processors.

Where required we will also share information with government agencies as required by law. The personal Data we hold is not processed outside of the UK

How Long do we keep your personal Data?

We keep your data for the current financial year plus 6 years, if you have applied unsuccessfully for a position we will retain your data for 6 months.

Your Rights

Subject to certain conditions the law recognises 8 rights

The right to be informed (this notice complies with this right. Right of Access, Right to rectification (of inaccurate information), Right to erasure, Right to restrict processing, Right to data portability, Right to object, Rights relating to automated decision making.

If you wish to exercise any of these rights please contact the office for consideration, You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner.
