The manufacturers note that such marks are a result of the natural firing and cooling process and the inherent properties of the clay material.
Manufactured by Stove Care and Repair from Dupre Minerals Vermiculite. A high quality, high density vermiculite board which will withstand temperatures in excess of 1100°C (2010°F).
